SUPERSUCKERS - "Liquor, Women, Drugs & Killing" Thirty plus years into their career and Eddie Spaghetti and co show no signs of slowing down with Liquor, Women, Drugs & Killing  being a welcome return to form after a couple of so-so efforts. Mainly because I think I always associate them with the early noughties when I first properly discovered them thanks to ChangesOne records - I remember ordering some CD's from them around this time  and they were doing a deal where you could take a free CD from a list of a dozen or so.   The prospect of a full album from the Supersuckers’ Eddie Spaghetti and Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs frontman Frank Meyer was something I was definitely looking forward to, especially given that the latters' One More Drink  album is definitely going to be right up there when it comes to the Nite Songs Album Of The Year award in a couple of months. Supersuckers albums have been a bit of a mixed bag in recent years but it's safe to say that Eddie and Frank's collaboration here hits all the right buttons. The opening title track and Knock My Teeth Out  are full on high octane rampages which conjure up all the best bits of their day job while the rollocking I Think It Sucks (And I Don't Like It)  is a full on moonshine-addled country staggerer. The sinister  Top Shelf Shame  takes things down a notch with a dark ode to self-loathing although the pair's cover of the Knack's My Sharona  is a bit of a disappointment - it could have seen them taking the song's pow...

  So here's part two of this month's Singles Bar featuring a few more singles and a trio of EP's as well, Plenty to get our teeth into so let's crack on pronto, eh? We last heard from Adam & The Hellcats  last year with the enjoyable  Welcome To The Madhouse  single. They have put out another one since in House of Straw  but honestly I wasn't that big a fan of it (sorry guys) hence why we didn't feature it on here. However, new effort  Bending The Knee  (🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑) is a big improvement sounding like some unholy collision between fellow Bristolians Vice Squad and the Sisters of Mercy at their most bombastic.   Ah, the rituals of life. Morning breaks, birds sing, the Supersuckers release a new album of scuzzed up rock 'n' roll, all is right with the world again... Now on no less than their eleventh album, Play That Rock 'n' Roll sees Tuscon's finest playing things fairly obvious even by their standards - opening track Ain't Gonna Stop (Until I Stop It)  is basically Prime Mover  by Zodiac Mindwarp rearranged slightly while elsewhere there's hints of everyone from the glam swagger of Bowie ( You Ain't The Boss Of Me ) through the rockabilly strut of the Stray Cats (the title track) to the glam stomp of Mud ( That's A Thing  basically IS  Tiger Feet  with slightly different words). So why does it still sound as infectiously brill as it always does then? Well, basically the Supersuckers are just damn good at what they do and the Lemmy style blast of Bringin' It Back ,  Last Time Again and the snarling Die Alone  are fine songs indeed while the swaggering...
